Nelia and Alec’s magical and emotional wedding began in the early morning of 4th May at Taronga Zoo in Sydney. The couple chose this special date because it resonates with the famous Star Wars phrase, “May the Fourth be with you”, a day celebrated by Star Wars fans across the globe.
As the preparations and makeup got underway, it was clear that Nelia and Alec were the perfect match. They are both kind-hearted people with wonderful personalities, sharing a love for video games and, most importantly, Star Wars.
Nelia’s morning preparations were relaxed and filled with emotional and memorable moments. With her mother and sister having flown all the way from America to Sydney for the wedding, there were many heartfelt interactions as they embraced and shared tender conversations together.
Nelia’s father arrived at the makeup suite at Taronga Zoo just as preparations were nearly complete, creating even more special family moments. We captured every important memory so the couple would have treasured photographs to look back on and share for years to come.
Alec’s side of the preparations was fun, relaxed, and full of personality. Our second photographer captured a Star Wars themed photoshoot before the official post-ceremony photography session, and everyone was clearly having the time of their lives.
After the Star Wars photoshoot, the group spent some time exploring the zoo grounds and visiting a variety of native Australian animals. We then returned to the Taronga Centre for more preparation photos. Alec, along with his best man and groomsmen, looked incredibly stylish and carried themselves with both charm and confidence.
During the ceremony, both Nelia and Alec openly expressed their love for one another and became emotional as they exchanged their vows. It was a truly special moment as they were married against the breathtaking backdrop of Sydney Harbour. As evening approached, we were able to capture stunning photographs that beautifully showcased the ceremony and its spectacular setting.
Following the ceremony, the bridal party enjoyed a fun-filled Star Wars themed photoshoot. One of the highlights of the day was the dramatic nighttime portrait session. Nelia and Alec were an absolute pleasure to work with, and together we explored a variety of creative ideas and poses, resulting in an amazing collection of photographs.
The reception was intimate, warm, and thoroughly enjoyable. Guests were treated to heartfelt speeches and memorable formalities, with highlights including the couple’s first dance and the touching father-daughter dance. The evening concluded with a grand reception exit, providing the perfect ending to a truly unforgettable wedding celebration.
